***Another spoiler-riffic post here -- but hey, at least this one says nice things!***
Really, it's because I can't get over just how sad this is. It's the last 3 1/2 minutes of the incredible 2007 film The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (Brad Pitt and Casey Affleck in the title roles, respectively), and it doesn't so much make you cry as it just flat-out rips at you.
There have been a lot of downer endings, of course. Some of them are poignant and appropriate, some of them excessive and almost groan-inducing. This one's of the former category, only as if it's on some sort of slow-release PED.
Please, do not watch unless you've seen the movie. And even if you have ... it's still tough to take. In a good way.
